People these days, get too caught up in their busy life to step back and take a moment to live a little. For those looking for some adventure along with some peace and quiet to themselves, Itoshima's mount Nijodake provides them sanctuary.
A mere 60 minute train ride from Tenjin will find you at Dainyu station.
From there it's a lovely 40 minute walk up winding roads and through farmlands up to the famous Yurarinko bridge. A perfect place to take in the landscape of Itoshima.

The bridge almost symbolizes the link between civilization and nature because once you cross it, your only companion to the top is a raging stream and several waterfalls; the biggest and most characterful with its three drops being Myojin waterfall

The trail leads up to Kamo Shrine, which is next to a camp ground for those who much like most of us, won't want to leave.
The trek down the mountain feels just as rewarding as the climb up.

Once off the mountain, you find yourself free to return to the hustle bustle of life till you feel the mountain and the raging waterfalls beckoning your return.
