Last Sunday (March 26th 2017), team Explore Itoshima conducted the 2017 Spring Tour with 17 participants of various countries. As spring has just started, the main theme for this tour is "flower". We could rarely found any blooming cheery blossom tree, which is regrettable, but the Canola flower did not disappoint us and was blooming in full force. We were treated with a wonderful view of yellow filling our entire peripheral vision, which is a great way to start our trip.

Our next stop is the highlight of the tour: Hiking Mt.Nijo. Mt.Nijo hides many beautiful waterfalls within it's jungle, one of which is the Myojin waterfall, which will be the destination of our tour. Before we even started to do any hiking, we were greeted with the sight of the Kamo Yurarinko Bridge with it's beautiful view of Itoshima.

The hiking was tiring, of course. But with the hike course running along a water stream, the final goal of Myojin water always stayed within our vision, and we were constantly filled with determination. The team was split into 2, with the energetic ones hiking up first, and the slower, more careful ones climbs behind. In fact, the front team was so fast that they went past even the waterfall.

After the hike, we had our lunch at Ito Aguri and rested at Shiraito Waterfall. The rain came before lunch, the perfect time for us to cool off and get to know each other better. The "Green Curry" was also available for those who want to try the unique dish of the restaurant.

The final stop of our tour is Kozai no Mori, a restaurant rich with history and tradition. We were shown not only the experience of drinking traditional tea, but also interesting stories of every corners and scratches of the house, and ultimately, a picture of Japan during the 1800s with lords fighting for land and power.

All in all, although there are still flaws, the tour still delivers the charm of Itoshima with it's wonderful view, exciting experiences and fascinating histories.
